Founded in 1993, Maha Energy Corporation is a global leader specializing in the design, manufacturing and distribution of battery and charging technology across industrial and consumer sectors.
With state-of-the-art research labs and production facilities in Asia, and sales & marketing offices in North America and Europe, Maha operates a global service network for both standard and custom-designed applications.
We supply the consumer market and major OEM manufacturers alike — including many Fortune 500 companies, as well as NASA, Kodak and Rockwell.
The key to advanced performance
Because Maha designs its own microcontrollers, we can respond to the market with features no one else offers — engineered in-house from the silicon up.
Designing our own microcontrollers lets us ship never-before-seen features fast.
We listen to customers and invest in fundamental technology to raise performance and cut cost.
Meets and exceeds UL, CE, GS, C-Tick and PSE — with multiple-redundant protections.
Verified with 25G HALT accelerated life testing and −40 to 80°C thermoshock.
Production & testing, done right
Our state-of-the-art hub in Taiwan runs highly automated production and testing for high yield and throughput at a competitive cost. Every facility is ISO-9001 certified, plus UL, TÜV and other accreditations.
Every product is tested individually by automated systems — removing the human factor from quality control — then run through a rigorous burn-in and cycling sequence, with random in-production sampling for extra reliability and aging tests.
"Maha" means infinity
The story of Maha Energy didn't start with a glorious beginning or a big entrance. It's the story of a young couple with two little boys — first-generation immigrants realizing their American dream. Today, Maha Energy is a minority woman-owned small business with a big ambition: better power solutions for a better environment, for generations to come.
Among the first to introduce NiMH battery technology and tailor-made professional-grade chargers, the Powerex brand earned its reputation through years of hard work. Charles, armed with his electrical engineering degree, designed the legendary MH-C777 Universal Charger — whose movable contacts could charge virtually any battery. Next came the MH-C9000 WizardOne charger-analyzer, giving users full control over charging and analyzing AA and AAA cells.
The company kept pushing professional-grade chargers for those who demand the most, while driving NiMH capacity from 1550mAh all the way to 2700mAh today, with low self-discharge. Powerex now offers some of the highest-capacity, best-performing consumer rechargeables on the market — staying true to its values for over 30 years, with products that outperform and service that's second to none.
