Two Decades of Commitment

Since 1993, Maha Energy Corporation has specialized in designing, manufacturing and distributing Powerex brand rechargeable batteries and charging technologies. For over 26 years, focused on the environment and sustainability, Maha Energy has never sold any disposable battery as a power solution. Maha Energy will still focus only on power solutions that will make the world a better place for future generations by our reducing carbon footprint and landfill.

Recharge, Reuse, Reduce, Recycle

People rarely talk about the different options they have that may lead to a more resource-efficient or energy-efficient lifestyle. This is especially true when it comes to our energy consumption choices. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Americans throw away more than 3 billion batteries, about 180,000 tons of batteries, each year. More than 86,000 tons of these are single use disposable alkaline batteries. The amount of batteries we throw away each year can circle Earth more than 6 times.

The fact that rechargeable batteries can be recharged hundreds to thousands of times makes it not only cost-effective but also a great way minimize the amount of waste we generate. While there are billions of batteries thrown into the landfills each year, we can greatly reduce the amount of waste by using rechargeable batteries for our electronic devices at home and at work. In addition, with established recycling programs worldwide, using rechargeable batteries may be the most sound choice to minimize our environmental impacts.

Recycling helps to protect our natural resources, reduce landfills, conserve energy and reduce water and air pollution as well as greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming. Maha Energy is a member of Call2Recycle’s industry steward program. Call2Recycle is the North American first and largest consumer battery recycling and steward program, who has more than 25,000 active collection sites across USA and Canada. By partnering with Call2Recycle, we are committed to environmental sustainability and meet or exceed the recycling standards for the safe recycling and management of batteries.

Call2Recycle Industry Steward

Call2Recycle’s industry steward program helps battery and product manufacturers fulfill recycling requirements in the U.S. and Canada, including compliance with extensive state, provincial and federal regulations, such as the Mercury-Containing and Rechargeable Battery Act (The Battery Act).
