Power the world without wasting it

Since 1993 we've built exactly one kind of product — rechargeables. Not a single disposable battery, ever. That's three decades of designing power to be used again and again.

Our commitment

Three decades,
one mission

Since 1993, Maha Energy has designed, manufactured and distributed Powerex rechargeable batteries and charging technology. In all that time we've never sold a disposable battery as a power solution — and we never will.

We stay focused on power solutions that leave the world better for future generations, by reducing carbon footprint and landfill waste one rechargeable cell at a time.

The problem, by the numbers

Americans throw away batteries faster than we can imagine

3B+
batteries thrown away in the US every year
180K
tons of batteries discarded annually (EPA)
86K
tons of that are single-use alkaline
around the Earth — what we discard each year would circle it 6+ times

Recharge. Reuse. Reduce. Recycle.

A rechargeable cell can be used hundreds to thousands of times.
01
Recharge

Top up the same cells again and again instead of buying new.

02
Reuse

One set powers device after device for years of service.

03
Reduce

Fewer batteries made, shipped and buried in landfills.

04
Recycle

At end of life, recycle responsibly through The Battery Network.

The Battery Network · Industry Steward

Proud member of The Battery Network

The Battery Network (formerly Call2Recycle) is North America's most trusted battery recycling and stewardship program, with thousands of active collection sites across the US and Canada. As a member, we meet or exceed the standards for safe recycling and management of batteries.

The program helps manufacturers comply with state, provincial and federal regulations, including the Mercury-Containing and Rechargeable Battery Act.
