This is a head-to-head test using the Powerex 2700 AA batteries and a leading brand alkaline batteries in Yongnuo 600ex-rt flashes at full power.  Automated testing device will trigger the flash immediately when the flash is ready.  The LCD on testing device shows the flash count and recycle time in milliseconds.

As you can see, Powerex 2700 AA batteries allow the flash to stay consistent with its recycling time while the alkaline batteries struggles to keep up with the fast pace.
